Hey, I'm Josh!

I'm an Atlanta-based creative currently training to become a full-time narrative and commercial cinematographer.

My film journey started in 2017.  I knew nothing about the film. Nothing about c-stands, the exposure triangle, or why shooting on the shadow side of your subject creates stronger contrast than the light side.

Back in high school, I was just a goofy kid having fun with friends creating comedy skits and music videos with horribly entertaining special effects in our Audio Video Tech & Film class. The best projects made their way to the morning announcements for the entire school to watch.Every week we would experiment with different video genres and pick up cool editing tricks we saw on YouTube.  Although almost none of our projects cut,  at the end of the day I had a great time creating "movie magic" with friends.

My four years at Georgia State University have completely opened my mind to the vast variety of stories I could tell and the impact I can leave the world with. I'm grateful to have been exposed to a plethora of extremely talented and driven creatives, visionaries, and mentors who continue to guide my path.

Art is arguably one of the strongest voices to have. Art transcends time and defies logic. Art is a force that speaks for the mute and fights for the youth. One of my greatest inspirations, Gordon Parks, spent a lifetime exposing the rawness and beauty of the treacherous time that he lived in. I aspire to bring such authenticity to the stories that I tell.

Even today, I'm still that goofy kid who loves to create movies with friends.

I have grand aspirations to run a production company that allows underrepresented voices to shine through the darkest depths of the world.

Currently, I work as a Second Assistant Camera and a Grip & Electric Swing. I typically work on a variety of media types, from student films, and full-length features, to tv shows.

In between shoots, I'm writing screenplays, practicing my cinematography, learning piano (again), and catching up on that never-ending list of movies and animes that I'm behind on!

I'm always open to network so please don't hesitate to contact me!
